Christian Nyerup Nielsen

Christian Nyerup Nielsen is Global Service Line Director for Climate Adaptation and a leading internationally expert in integrated urban infrastructure planning, climate adaptation and resilience. 

Across the Nordics, US and Asia-Pacific, Christian and his global team of climate adaptation strategists and designers develop design solutions supporting long-term resiliency through a holistic approach, thorough stakeholder engagement and deep technical insight.  

With more than 30 years of experience, Christian has led and contributed to numerous projects internationally – from large-scale urban developments and flood protection plans in Copenhagen, Gothenburg and at Borneo to cloudburst management projects in New York City. Further, he has managed storm surge protection planning for Washington DC, Singapore, Copenhagen and provided strategic advice to cities globally.
